Olinda Tanker 1      Type 3.4D

The latest addition to Olinda's fleet as of November 2004 is a Hino Ranger PRO 8Z (4x4) with 3000litre tank and Hatz 22Kw (diesel) / GAAM Mk 325 pumpset. Affectionately known as the "Prawn Trawler" due to the large number of lights fitted around the body of the vehicle, our new Tanker One is our principle wildfire attack vehicle. 

Complementing the pumpset is a “FoamPro 1601” direct-injection class-A foam proportioning system injecting into the pump discharge allowing foam availability at all outlets simultaneously. A-Class foam proportioning rate is adjustable at the operator console between 0.1%  to 1.0%  and can be produced from either 1 of 3 aspirating foam branches provided (different sizes for different applications), or from a standard 'Protech branch at a maximum concentration of 0.3%. 

Foam concentrate tank capacity is 50ltr. plus a further 20ltrs.is carried separately allowing an A-Class foam firefighting capability of about 8 tank loads (24000ltrs.) at a setting of 0.3%.

Crew safety features include an electronic 4-stage tank water level monitor and a minimum safety reserve alarm (both audible and visual). Both features can be monitored, and tested, by the driver.

A second pump control station is fitted adjacent to the rear crew area (ROPS cage).

The GAAM Mk.325 pump has the following duty:-

                                    1400 ltrs. @ free discharge  (max. flow)

                                    900 ltrs. @ 700 Kpa discharge pressure

The vehicle also carries class B foam with in-line inductor system, 2 x BA sets on pull down cradle, 1 x VHF portable radio, 1 x VHF vehicle radio, 2 x UHF portable radios, chainsaw, and numerous roadside warning beacons (amber) in addition to red/blue portable tripod mounted flashing hazard lamps.

Tanker Two is our principle Wildfire attack vehicle. Hino 8ltr turbocharged 4wd with 2350ltrs of water.   Crew capacity = 5

Crew safety features include an electronic tank minimum safety reserve alarm (both audible and visual).-

 25 sprinkler heads over truck for crew protection  

weighs 11 tons, access hatch from cabin to rear deck    

Pump can be operated from cabin , rear deck , or back of truck
